JB Cutting’s philosophy is “a place for everything and everything in its place.” We’ve recently invested time and money in getting our shop more organized to prevent rush orders of key inventory items and to facilitate a better work flow. The picture above focuses on our racking system to organize sheets of MDF and melamine, since we use over 20 different colors, keeping these neat and organized is imperative! Instead of employees searching for materials, they are laid out and easily accessible. Also, now that everything is visible, inventory levels are much easier to check and re-ordering becomes more streamlined.
The picture above focuses on packaging materials, moldings and phenolic – backed material. Phenolic is a hard, dense material made by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper or glass cloth impregnated with synthetic resin. When the phenolic and 3DL are joined, the resulting material is usually used to reface the stiles and rails of cabinets and or to cover the end of a cabinet run. Although you can’t tell from the picture, the phenolic backed sheets are nicely labeled making it easier for employees to find them when they are needed to fulfill an order.
